The new ZIM Flugsitz plant will open at the Industriepark Schwerin on March 3, 2017. In its first phase of development, the 7,500-square-meter (80,700 sq. ft.) facility will produce around 20,000 aircraft seats annually and employ 80 new workers. Once the new facility is in operation, ZIM Flugsitz will have more than doubled its production capacity and increased its total number of employees from 160 to 240.
The company will be celebrating the official opening of the facility with political and business leaders, as well as customers from around the world. Special guests will include Brigitte Zypries, German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy, Erwin Sellering, Minister President of the State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, and Harry Glawe, State Minister of Economics.
